Normal mode and Idle Up mode are the two flight modes generally used by Heli pilots. Most experienced RC helicopter pilots fly almost exclusively in Idle Up mode. Normal mode means low throttle stick with engine at idle or off.
A switch in a RC helicopter Tx set up that sets a heli throttle to low value regardless of any other input. Often seen as another flight mode employing a separate pitch curve.
