2.2.10 FrSky TARANIS Radio – Using an external RF module (DSM2, Specktrum, Orange) by Painless 360 June 2015 (#12 of 13)

In this video he installs and configures a Spektrum DM9 external module into the back of the TARANIS transmitter and sets it up in the menus and shows it binding to a Spektrum receiver.

This will also work if you are using an Orange DSM2 module in the radio. Just be aware of the polarity of the PPM setups in the menu – use negative for the official Spektrum module, use positive for the OrangeRX DSM module.

  1. This all sounds good if your are building a quad using pektrum components.
My question is, I have a blade 350 qx3 which uses spektrum dsm not ppm. Would like to know how to use this method to bind my taranis x9d plus. To my blade 350 if at all possible. Since hobby horizon say it cant. Bind using the same spektrum module you are using in the video. Or any suggestions on any other external module I should look at. Been seeing on posts that the new orange external module won’t bind anymore with blade/spektrum products. HELP!!!! WOULD be appreciated

    • I use the Orange module from HK. Don’t know about other alternatives, personally, however some have had good luck canabalizing one of the D series Spektrum modules and constructing their own module. Check on one of the Groups or give Google a try.
